Blocking time off
Time blocks let you mark an inspector as unavailable for a specific period — a day off, a vacation, a training day, a personal appointment, or any time they should not be scheduled. Time blocks appear on the team calendar so everyone can see the availability at a glance.
What a time block does
A time block reserves a period of time on an inspector's calendar. During a time block:
The inspector appears as unavailable if you try to schedule a booking during that window.
The block is visible on the team calendar.
Booking scheduling will flag a conflict if you try to assign that inspector during the blocked time.
Time blocks do not cancel existing bookings — they only prevent new bookings from being scheduled without a conflict warning.
Adding a time block
Go to Settings → Availability (in your personal account or for a specific team member).
Click Add Time Block.
Fill in the details:
Date or date range — a single day or a span of days (for vacations or multi-day events).
Time range — all day, or a specific start and end time if the inspector is partially available.
Label — an optional internal note (for example, "Vacation" or "Training"). Labels are visible to your team but not to customers.
Click Save.
The time block appears on the team calendar immediately.
Adding a time block from the calendar
You can also add a time block directly from the calendar view:
Click on a date or time slot on the calendar.
Select Add Time Block from the popup.
Fill in the details and save.
Editing or removing a time block
Click the time block on the calendar.
Select Edit to change the dates, times, or label.
Select Remove to delete the block.
Removing a time block makes that time available for scheduling again immediately.
Recurring time blocks
If an inspector has a recurring commitment — for example, they are unavailable every Friday afternoon for an ongoing commitment — you can set a recurring time block. Choose the recurrence pattern (weekly, monthly) and set an end date if the commitment has one.
Time blocks vs. working hours
Time blocks and working hours work together. Working hours define when an inspector is generally available (their regular schedule). Time blocks make exceptions to that availability for specific periods. A day that falls within working hours but has an all-day time block is treated as unavailable.
