Booking widget setup and customization
The booking widget is an embeddable form that lets prospective customers request an inspection directly from your website or landing page. When someone fills out the widget, a booking request appears in Inspector Studio for your team to review and confirm.
What the widget does
The booking widget collects:
The customer's contact information (name, email, phone).
The property address.
The service(s) they are requesting.
Their preferred date(s) and time.
Any notes or additional requests.
The submission creates a new booking in Inspector Studio in Unscheduled status. Your team reviews the request, confirms availability, sets the final schedule, and sends a confirmation to the customer.
Note: The widget creates a booking request — it does not automatically confirm a time slot. You remain in control of the final schedule.
Setting up the widget
Go to Settings → Booking Widget.
Configure the widget:
Services displayed — choose which services customers can request. Typically your main offerings (standard home inspection, 4-Point, Wind Mitigation, etc.).
Service descriptions — add short descriptions so customers understand what each service covers.
Required fields — decide whether phone number is required in addition to name and email.
Availability display — optionally show available dates based on your inspectors' calendars so customers can self-select.
Click Save.
Getting the embed code
After configuring the widget:
Go to Settings → Booking Widget.
Click Get Embed Code.
Copy the snippet of code provided.
Paste this code into your website wherever you want the widget to appear. If you use a website builder (Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, etc.), paste it into an HTML embed block.
Adding the widget to your Inspector Studio landing page
If you use your Inspector Studio-hosted landing page, you can enable the widget there without any code:
Go to Settings → Organization → Landing Page.
Enable the Booking Widget module.
Drag it to the position on the page where you want it to appear.
Save.
Customizing widget appearance
The widget adopts your organization's primary color and logo by default. Additional style customization (font, button text, field labels) is available in Settings → Booking Widget → Appearance.
Handling widget submissions
When a customer submits the widget, you receive a notification and the booking appears in your bookings list filtered as a new request. Review it, contact the customer if needed to confirm details, assign an inspector, set the time, and confirm the booking.
