Canceling your account
If you need to cancel your Inspector Studio subscription, here is what to know before you do and how the process works.
Before you cancel
Export your data first. Once your account is canceled and the grace period ends, your data is no longer accessible through the platform. Before canceling, export anything you need to keep:
Booking history (CSV export from the Bookings list)
Contact list (CSV export from Contacts)
Invoice history (CSV export from Invoicing)
Published reports (download PDFs from the report viewer for any reports you want to keep)
Templates (export templates from the template editor)
See Exporting data for step-by-step instructions for each type.
How to cancel
Go to Settings → Billing.
Click Cancel Subscription.
You may be asked to provide a reason for canceling.
Confirm the cancellation.
Your subscription is canceled immediately. You retain access to your account until the end of your current billing period.
What happens after cancellation
During the remaining billing period: Your account stays fully active. You can continue using Inspector Studio, exporting data, and delivering any in-progress reports.
At the end of the billing period: Your account moves to a read-only state or is deactivated, depending on your plan. No new bookings, reports, or invoices can be created.
Data retention: Inspector Studio retains your data for a period after cancellation (typically 30–90 days) in case you decide to reactivate. After that period, data is permanently deleted.
Reactivating after cancellation
If you cancel and then change your mind, you can reactivate your subscription at any time before data is deleted.
Log in to your Inspector Studio account (your login credentials remain valid during the retention period).
Go to Settings → Billing.
Click Reactivate Subscription.
Update your payment method if needed and choose a plan.
All your data will be intact as you left it.
Pausing instead of canceling
If you are canceling because of a slow season or temporary situation, consider whether pausing your subscription (if available on your plan) is a better option. A pause keeps your account and data in place without billing you, and you can resume when you are ready.
Contact support to ask about pause options if you do not see that choice in your billing settings.
