Report translations
Inspector Studio supports translating inspection reports into other languages so customers who are more comfortable reading in a language other than English can access their report in their preferred language. Translations are generated from the report content and are managed by the inspector before publishing.
How translations work
Translation is driven by the inspector — you initiate the translation for a specific report when you know the customer would benefit from it. The process works as follows:
You write and complete the report in English (or your primary language) as normal.
You request a translation for the report into the target language.
Inspector Studio generates a translated version of the report content.
You review the translation and make any corrections.
The translated report is published alongside the original.
The customer can view the report in either language from the report viewer — a language toggle lets them switch between the original and the translation.
Requesting a translation
Open the completed report in the editor.
Click Translate Report in the toolbar or report settings.
Select the target language from the list of supported languages.
Click Generate Translation.
Translation takes a short time to complete. You will be notified when it is ready to review.
Reviewing the translation
Translation quality is high but not perfect — specialized inspection terminology, trade names, and regional terms may need adjustment. Review the translation before publishing, especially for:
Technical deficiency descriptions
Equipment names and model numbers (these often should not be translated)
Legal or disclaimer language
Click on any translated section to edit it. Your edits are saved and carried through to the published translation.
What the customer sees
In the report viewer, a language selector appears at the top if a translation is available. The customer can toggle between the original language and the translation at any time. Both versions show the same photos and deficiency structure — only the text differs.
Supported languages
The list of available translation languages is shown in the translation request interface. Contact support if the language you need is not available.
