Attachments

Updated June 18, 2026

Attachments let you store files directly on a booking — permits, prior inspection reports, seller disclosures, photos the customer sent, or any other document relevant to the job. Attachments are for internal reference by default and are not shared with the customer unless you explicitly make them available.

Uploading an attachment

  1. Open the booking.

  2. Scroll to the Attachments section.

  3. Click Upload File (or drag and drop a file onto the section).

  4. Select the file from your device.

  5. Optionally give it a label to make it easy to identify later.

  6. Click Upload.

Supported file types include PDF, images (JPG, PNG, HEIC), and common document formats (DOCX, XLSX). There is no strict size limit for individual files, but very large files (over 50 MB) may take longer to upload.

Viewing and downloading attachments

All attachments on a booking are listed in the Attachments section. Click any file to preview it (PDFs and images preview in the browser). Click the download icon to save a copy to your device.

Labeling and organizing

Each attachment has an optional label field. Use labels to make the file's purpose clear at a glance — for example, "Seller Disclosure," "Permit #12345," or "Customer-submitted photo."

If a booking accumulates many attachments, labels are the best way to keep things organized.

Removing an attachment

To remove an attachment from a booking:

  1. Click the options menu (three-dot icon) next to the file.

  2. Select Remove.

  3. Confirm the deletion.

Removed attachments are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Permit attachments

When you pull permit records through Inspector Studio's permit integration, any permit documents are automatically attached to the relevant section of the inspection report rather than the booking attachments list. See the Photos in reports and report editor articles for more detail on how permit documents flow into a report.
