Scheduling and rescheduling

Updated June 18, 2026

Scheduling in Inspector Studio ties a booking to a specific date, time, and inspector. You can schedule during booking creation or set it later — and you can reschedule at any time if plans change.

Scheduling a booking

When you create a booking, Step 4 of the creation flow asks you to pick a date and time. The scheduling interface shows a calendar and a list of your inspectors with their available time slots.

To schedule:

  1. Select a date on the calendar.

  2. Choose a start time. The duration is estimated based on the services selected (you can override it).

  3. Select the inspector to assign for this job.

  4. Click Confirm.

If no time is set during creation, the booking is saved as Unscheduled. You can schedule it later from the booking overview.

Setting or changing the schedule after creation

  1. Open the booking.

  2. Find the Schedule section on the booking overview.

  3. Click Schedule (if unscheduled) or Edit (if already scheduled).

  4. Pick the new date, time, and inspector.

  5. Click Save.

Rescheduling a booking

Rescheduling works the same way — open the booking, edit the schedule, and save. Inspector Studio will log the change in the booking's activity history.

Tip: If you have automated messages set up (Conditionals), rescheduling can automatically trigger a reschedule notification to the customer. Check your Conditionals settings if you want this to happen.

Scheduling conflicts

Inspector Studio will warn you if an inspector is already booked during the time slot you select. You can override the warning and double-book the inspector if needed — the system does not prevent it, but it flags it so you are aware.

Travel time

If your inspectors cover a geographic area, factor travel time into the booking duration manually. Extend the estimated duration or leave a gap between back-to-back bookings on the same inspector's schedule.

Viewing the schedule

The Calendar view shows all upcoming bookings by inspector and date. Use it to get a quick visual of who is busy when. See the Calendar overview article for more detail.
