Dashboard overview

Updated June 18, 2026

The dashboard is the first screen you see when you log in to Inspector Studio. It gives you a quick summary of what is happening in your business right now — upcoming inspections, recent activity, and anything that needs your attention.

What is on the dashboard

Upcoming inspections

A list of your next scheduled bookings, ordered by date. Each entry shows the property address, the scheduled time, the assigned inspector, and the booking status. Click any entry to open the full booking.

If you are an inspector (rather than an admin or manager), this list shows only your assigned bookings. Admins and managers see all upcoming bookings across the team.

Recent activity

A feed of recent actions in your account — new bookings created, reports published, invoices sent, messages received. This helps you stay aware of what your team has been doing without having to check every section manually.

Outstanding items

Items that need attention: unsigned agreements, unpaid invoices, unassigned bookings, or unread messages. These are flagged so nothing falls through the cracks.

Quick actions

Buttons for the most common tasks — New Booking, New Contact, and New Message. These let you start the most frequent workflows without navigating to a specific section first.

What you see depends on your role

The dashboard is role-aware. Admins and managers see a full-team view with all bookings, all activity, and financial summaries. Inspectors see a personal view focused on their own assigned work. Staff see an operational view without financial data.

Customizing the dashboard

Some dashboard widgets can be repositioned or toggled on and off depending on your preferences. Click the settings icon on the dashboard to adjust what you see.

Using the dashboard as a morning check-in

The dashboard is designed to answer the question "What do I need to know right now?" A good daily habit is to open the dashboard first thing and scan:

  1. Are all of today's bookings confirmed and assigned?

  2. Are there any unread customer messages?

  3. Are there any outstanding invoices for jobs that have already been completed?

From there, navigate to whatever needs action.
